Glamour dew

I have been working on  number of things in my laboratory as of late. One of them has been the further study of Glamour and it's uses. It is know even to laymen that Glamour fuels faerie "magics". In truth, even under study we have yet to fully understand the workings of most Faerie that create this substance.

While I will not go into the details and harvesting of Glamour Dew, I will say that does involve Faerie Musk. Which leads to the belief of Faerie's sprinkling people with "pixie dusk" to cause magical effects such as flight, or even invisibility.

So far our studies of it however have not provided such radical abilities developing from its use and presence. It does seem however to make one more appealing to Fae.

((This item has not been studied by the fda and all claims to improve one's reality is solely placed on the wearer of this talisman. Professor Lascivious and her colleagues feel  that use of this item may improve ones life when used in conjunction with following good karma, and positive promotion of energy))

Nutritor Mediocris, The Corpse eater Faerie

Picture
Offered up in our Electronic merchant stall is a preserved specimen playfully displayed in an Iron cage along with a bird skull. The mounting was inspired by a Visit to Dr. Lewidin's Study where I noticed he had forgotten to feed some of his research specimens himself. I can Insure this Faerie was Humanly Harvest and preserved, and did not die of malnutrition.

For those who do not know about this type of Fae, Some information about it. The Somes Nutritor Mediocris, also known as the Corpse eater or Rot eater can typically be found nesting in bogs, swamps and from time to time in cemeteries.

Living in small pods, They seem to be Matriarchal in social structure, having an alpha female that seeks out food sources while the alpha male is left to tend the egg's and Larva of the nest.

Other males and females of the pod also seem to breed and leave their byproducts with the alpha male as they go off to feed on the remains found by the alpha female.

It has been witnessed the workings of 1 pod can clean the bones on a house cat sized animal within a few days as they repeatedly gouge themselves, return to purge their bounty into the nest's communal larder. From this storage all members of the pod are fed.

Housing of the Common Honey Faerie

5/19/2010

One of the things I always recommend to our newer members of the Society is to acquire for their studies and lab supplies at least 1 Mellis Mediocris
Picture
A mounted Mellis Mediocris
The Common Honey Faerie like house brownies and pond pixies can both be delightful to have on display as well as useful in the function of your home and pursuits. Wither you delight in having a bonded Faerie that is content to ride in your pocket, or you keep them to produce enticement musk for your baiting of enticement stations; they are a must.

Acquiring a common honey faerie can be as simple or as complex of an event as you wish to make it. As the most easy to domestic without fear of urbanization corrupting  them , many a member has bred them and often sell or give them to newer members, or to those who's labs and gardens have been struck with a faerie endangering blight.

These Faeries have always been hand fed since their hatching and have no fear of humans. They bond quickly at a young age and must be trained from the beginning of your ownership. They can be attention demanding and always begging for sweets, so it is important to place within them from day one an understanding of how much time daily you will spend with them.

Many a young lady enchanted and excited over the novelty of owning a faerie make the mistake of fawning over their new acquisitions  as one would a puppy or small mammal spending every minute they can with it and spoiling it with unneeded feedings. Later of course as they begin to pursue more complex species the novelity wears off, leaving the honey faerie ignored.

This can cause the Honey Faerie to produce poor quality of musk, destructive behaviorism and early death. So when obtaining a domestically bred Honey Faerie keep  in mind how much time in the long run you plan to spend with your faerie. You should plan for at least 10 minutes a day of interaction and a little more or less on the rare event will not harm the relationship with your bonded faerie in the long run . Over all they are a forgiving specimen to  keep.

If you go the route of capturing a wild Honey Faerie, fear not they also bond with humans, just not on the level of imprinting as their domesticated kin . In many ways, the capturing of a wild born Honey Faerie can be most awarding in the fact that it takes time, a small level of skill and most importantly patience.

Absinthe oil, a way to attract Mediocris viridis Absethine

Picture
Haus of Gloi has created in their own words: The Gloi interpretation of the fae vert!

Hauntingly herbal. Wormwood and anise swim in a creamy green sea of lemon balm, green lemon, soft glowing mints, a hefty lump of sugar and the tiniest drop of suggestive deep green moss.

Gloi creates highly concentrated perfume oils, crafted from essential oils, resins, absolutes and high quality fragrance oils. Presented in a 5ml amber glass bottle with a leak proof cap.

Apply to pulse points around body and inhale!

This is a lovely means to lure the Mediocris viridis Absethine to a lady of stature with having to drink one's self into a state of questionably state.

Endearments abound in this Faerie Home
I found this wonderful Faerie Habitat while looking through the electronic catalog this evening. Created by HoppingGlark it is both practical and delightful to behold. With open spaces and small items to attract small nimble fingers, I do believe this "home" would quickly fill with glamour producing  Fae. All one would need is to provide proper placement in their garden and to put out milk and honey as a welcome mat.

Faerie Alters?

5/13/2010

I found Faerie Alters while examining the Wears of a member of the Society. Her interesting collection of occult paraphernalia would please Crowley himself. While she sells many an item to the budding and accomplished student of the weirding  way, it is these items that caught my attention.
Picture
Alters to the elements and to the Faerie. While I do not support this current trend I have been watching of Faerie Worship. The alter itself does seem to be a valuable tool to gaining access to the most aloof of the Fae. These wonders which contain in each sealed parcel: (this is but an example, as different elements contain different items)
--1 Aether Elemental Tealight
--1 Duck Feather Quill, wrapped in a ribbon of purple
--1 5/8 Dram of scented Violette Petal magical ink
--1 Crystal Charm Focii in an organza baggie
--1 Aether Scroll Parchment
--A sprinkling of Wisteria Fairy Dust in a jewel capped bottle
--A Crystal Circle invocation with Fairy Star
--Aether stamped side leaflets for your own items of power
offer its user "Your altar can be used for anything you like, such as opening gateways to Faerie, raising up glamour, crystal divination or weaving spells and charms. A Fairy Star is an 8-pointed Star that connects the shimmering hues of magic that evoke glamor."
The Gilded Quill is know for their fine tools of the super natural. Carrying Wands, oils, Journals and other objects of the divine, one is sure to find all their needs in time for their next séance.

Returned in good spirits

Having returned from our outing in the fair northern State of PA, I have been a tither with the preservation of the latest specimens collected. While some of them were quite difficult to lure to the feeding station due to the large gathering of humans at the Spoutwood Faerie festival. I did find them in abundance in the  Faerie Habitation centers placed through the farmstead.
Over all I found the host of the festival refreshing for while they did glamour-ize faeries in an overly positive and more intellectual light then I would prefer. They also showed the true threat of the unseelie folk, and often spoke of changelings and  infant snatching.

I was also excited to have added to my collection a "Mud Goblin"
Picture
Example of a domisticated Mud Goblin
These Mud Goblins are captivity breed and have been domesticated by our Good Friends at Goblin Road.
They Have announced Due to the rarity and difficulty of this genus of goblin they have been limited to 500 of these darlings being hatched and raised to a suitable age for homing with prospective keepers and cryptozoologists.
While at first I was deeply concerned with the social interaction of my new Mud Goblin with the Mediocris I currently keep in my lab, along with the "Noise Goblin" I had brought home the year before for my off spring to study, and of course our House Brownie Dizmil, Who tends to have a pention to upset the less domesticated of the fae, I can report there has been little issue with it's incorporation to our homestead. While I do question the claimed birthing of the Mud goblins by Goblin road's as they claim they are spawned in a form of Laughism "Where as we all know that faeries are born from the laughter of children, Mud Goblins are created everytime a child squishes mud, muck, goop, or grime between their toes and delights at the squelchy sound."
They do however come with a certificate of their pedigree, insuring they are true goblin of merit.
Over all I would advise getting one of these rare genus of goblins before their hatching season passes and it is another long century before their breeding season commences once more.

    Professor Lascivious

Who strangely also will answer to the name Tiffany Crosby spends her time creating art, writing down her musings and helping others as a massage therapist.
When not chasing Faeries as the professor she is spending time with her husband, daughter and 3 dogs.
