Laughterism Vs. Evolutionism

Faeries have been noted in history since man first looked out into the unknown forests, caverns, and waters. Every culture has their accounting of Faeries, without ever having interacted with one another. Depiction differs greatly from region to region. But one thing is always accountable, their mischievous and often questionable moral practices. This of course is the by product of our imaging, much the way one gives their horseless carriage a gender and name, sometimes going so far as to believe it has personality traits beyond its means. In such a way, Faeries have been giving the same social mannerism. In some examples, as with Nix, Elves, gnomes, dwarves, and selkie, work has shown their ability to learn human dilate, and mimic it to their advantage. Much like teaching a parrot to say I love you for a treat, these larger Fae are capable of advanced puzzle solving, and being able to communicate their wants and needs.

Let it be stated here, while Faeries are a beautiful mimicry of us, they are in no way human. Like the animals of the Galápagos Islands they have evolved with great diversity and variation for adapting to their environment. This has been proven by the cataloging of urbanized faeries. Like the pepper moth, industrial melanism has caused great changes to the species affected while introduced into the polluted environments of our cities. In no way are these urbanized faeries new species but the success adaptations of wild faeries. In rare cases of captive reproduction, it has been recorded pupa which hatched had no resemblance to the parent(s). Also there is no evidence to prove hybrids exist.

Some debate continues over the theory of creationism or evolution when it comes to Faeries or Laughterism Vs. Evolutionism. While it is still in question of where in the evolutional tree these creatures fall, it can be historically recorded they have not had the need to adapt or change up to this century. Examples of divergent, convergent, and parallel evolution are all present with man infringing on their natural habitat and the introduction of soot and filth of our cities.

You might wonder about the term Laughterism Vs. Evolutionism. Much like Creationism, Laughterism is the belief of spontaneous Faerie life. In the studies and work of  J. M. Barrie, it is mentioned a Faerie was born of a child’s first laughter. Much akin to woman being created of Adams Rib, there is no proof of this given, or obtainable. Several case studies have been done monitoring new born and their first laughter, control groups used to provide different forms of stimuli to the infants while under watch with viewing goggles. In not a single case was the spontaneous creation of  faerie observed. Those who follow the Belief of Laughterism would debate that the birth of the new Faeries would not necessarily be at the place of the child, but the laughter necessary to the event regardless of the actual location of the "birth"

With that work of Doctor Windbrain, it has been noted that Faeries do in fact reproduce through sexual reproduction leaving the Theory of Laughterism as the least likely of Origins. It has also been theorized that Faeries predate man. Fossils have been found to support this, as has observation of how adaptive Faeries are.

In the Research of Faerie Pupa by Lady Mcharris, She did observe that music affected the hatch rate of the pupa and the gender. She noted that a "pleasing" tone caused them to develop faster and hatched predominantly female, while harsh unpleasant noises such as factory sounds, screams and crying produced prolonged gestation times and  predominately males clutches. In looking at finds such as hers, you can see where one might of concluded to Laughterism.

It is through continued study and questioning that we discover the truth of the world about us. Hence the importance of our works.

Professor Lascivous advisment on ensnarement of faeries

Many in the field often become disheartened early on by the inability to obtain specimens to study and preserve. But dear reader, take heart in the fact that everyone is a novice at one time and practice and practical know how does pay off. Today, I am going to share, small tricks and tactics I have learned over my many years on how to ensnare a Faerie.

Picture
Many of our first time hunters in the field think it is as simple as a butterfly net, and running the wilds. Oh, if only was such the case. Yes of course you might be in the fortune of coming upon a creature who is young and fresh or without glamors to escape such things. But if you are only using a net, all you will ever capture for your collections is butterflies and June bugs.

Often such as now, I remind students of Faerie preservation that this can be a life long pursuit, and sometimes one must work years to archive one specimen, though where one seeks their objects of study will alter the time of commitment.

A way to insure future success is to plan ahead and use an enticement kit. In much the way lodge hunters set up a feeding area for deer and other large game animals to make their hunting more successful, we ladies also can set up an area that encourages beings of our choosing to visit a location repeatedly, free of fear or human interaction. You balk at this perhaps, but is that not what we do with our bird feeders with seed selected for the birds we want to view or our butterfly gardens? We are the masters of our spaces and we alter it by choice. In this case, we are providing a safe feeding area for creatures that have been pushed out of their natural habitats by the advances of man.

Many are content with just the daily viewing and study of Faeries at far. They are majestic things and unfortunately flighty. While a enticement station might lure them to the location, they will often remain unseen by the common eye or only take a shine to one or two who frequent the location.  To bring such wonders to the world at large, ensnarement is in order.

Some might say it is cruel to capture a Faerie, but in truth it is just another form of population control, and a Darwinian happenstance. Faeries such as the ones that do become ensnared most likely would of befallen victim to being trampled by a horseless carriage or fallen into a vat or honey being processed. We do a service to the species by ensuring we remove beautiful, but simple stock from their folds.

Once one has a prospering enticement station, one should at first study it from afar and gather as much field information as one can. Learn the feeding habits and Identify the types of faeries that come to feed. Research such as this is always vital to yourself and the society as a whole. With use of Viewing goggles you will be able to observe them from the beginning without waiting for them to stop using their glamor to mask themselves.

In some ways, a mask faerie is easier to capture as they feel more safe in their environment and will come closer to you in this state to explore the new human in their habitat. Many first time Society members make the mistake to capture them at this point, not realizing their acquisition even once preserved will only be viewable with viewing goggles.

Some of our more eccentric members have taken to a form of self entertainment of holding viewing parties strictly for members who have viewing goggles of fashionable designs, such as opera glasses. Often even having their displayed specimens out in the public eye unseen. While this is a wonderful way to wordlessly scout out other members, it does not aid in our goal to provide viewing wonders for all and future generations.

I feel I have over written on this subject and will continue this lesson on a later date, as I will cover, How to make yourself unseen be faeries, and the best ways to track them.

One of our Ladies of the field went exploring the City of Ann Arbor acclaimed Faerie infection of their down time area. While she did discover a goblin door, viewed on the left, she said she did not happen upon any active goblins.
