While as the name would suggest this small and stout creature is indeed dim, it possess an interesting ability. Often living in the halls of collages, libraries and book binding factories. The Ignorance Imp, collects scraps of materials (on occasion they will actually destroy legitimate property) to make replica of books which they drag about with them, making small hordes of small Fae crafted journals.
While this would seem to be a very clever activity of the Ignorance Imp, this is the extent of their craftiness. The imp itself like all animals, are not capable of reading or writing, hence their vast collections lay blank.
It is believed the Ignorance Imp, is a master of mimicry, and prior to the urbanization of their natural habitats they would follow other creatures and copy them. With the introduction of humans into their areas they developed more complex mimicry, cutting grain, picking plants, or echoing words they have heard. Like a mocking bird they need only hear or see something once to begin to repeat it.
It could even be placed in theory that prior of the printing press, the imps may of even copied the writing motions of the men of cloth as they hand wrote the books they made. With the introduction of the printing press however this no longer is a regularly practice event for the imps to watch and copy.
It is rumored certain members have begun to use these imps in attempt to improve factory production work, showing them how to assemble small objects. This study is forth coming as the imps do not seem to have a trigger for when to mimic or create items.
On occasion a member of the Society will find the nest of a ignorance imp, and harvest the collection of blank journals to either add to their collection of novelties or sell them as charms or talismans to those of the occult circles with the pretense that these mini books contain a power to them, as they were made by non human hands.
While research on these books have not shown any supernatural nature to them, nor are they shown to contain any glamour, they are indeed a marvel of nature to behold.
