Housing of the Common Honey Faerie

One of the things I always recommend to our newer members of the Society is to acquire for their studies and lab supplies at least 1 Mellis Mediocris

The Common Honey Faerie like house brownies and pond pixies can both be delightful to have on display as well as useful in the function of your home and pursuits. Wither you delight in having a bonded Faerie that is content to ride in your pocket, or you keep them to produce enticement musk for your baiting of enticement stations; they are a must.

Acquiring a common honey faerie can be as simple or as complex of an event as you wish to make it. As the most easy to domestic without fear of urbanization corrupting  them , many a member has bred them and often sell or give them to newer members, or to those who's labs and gardens have been struck with a faerie endangering blight.

These Faeries have always been hand fed since their hatching and have no fear of humans. They bond quickly at a young age and must be trained from the beginning of your ownership. They can be attention demanding and always begging for sweets, so it is important to place within them from day one an understanding of how much time daily you will spend with them.

Many a young lady enchanted and excited over the novelty of owning a faerie make the mistake of fawning over their new acquisitions  as one would a puppy or small mammal spending every minute they can with it and spoiling it with unneeded feedings. Later of course as they begin to pursue more complex species the novelity wears off, leaving the honey faerie ignored.

This can cause the Honey Faerie to produce poor quality of musk, destructive behaviorism and early death. So when obtaining a domestically bred Honey Faerie keep  in mind how much time in the long run you plan to spend with your faerie. You should plan for at least 10 minutes a day of interaction and a little more or less on the rare event will not harm the relationship with your bonded faerie in the long run . Over all they are a forgiving specimen to  keep.

If you go the route of capturing a wild Honey Faerie, fear not they also bond with humans, just not on the level of imprinting as their domesticated kin . In many ways, the capturing of a wild born Honey Faerie can be most awarding in the fact that it takes time, a small level of skill and most importantly patience.
